I’m a British artist based in Farnham, Surrey.

My practice moves fluidly between representation and abstraction, allowing each work to find the visual language it requires. Beginning from observation, memory or imagination, my work evolves through an intuitive process in which the act of painting becomes a form of enquiry rather than illustration.

I’m interested in the meeting point between the external world and inner experience, seeking to evoke places that are emotionally rather than literally true. Observation, drawing and composition provide the foundation, while intuition, memory and atmosphere guide the painting as it discovers its own voice.

Alongside painting, I write poetry and make music, with each discipline informing the others as part of a broader creative practice.
